Regional Plant Symposium Highlights Native Plants

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The seventh biennial Wild Ones Native Plant Symposium will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., September 29, at the St. John Township Community Center, in Schereville, Indiana.

       Presentations include Silent Spring and the Birth of the Modern Ecology Movement, with Leslie Goddard, actress and historian; Wild Ones—Stewards of Natural Landscaping, with Donna Van Buecken, retired executive director of Wild Ones; 21st Century Conservation; Where have all the Carson’s Gone?, with Steve Sass; and Native Plant Habitat and Quality of Life, with Craig Zandstra, Lake County Parks landscaper.

Early registration prior to Aug. 31: $30 members/$40 nonmembers. Late registration after Aug. 31: $35 members/$45 nonmembers.
