Forest Preserve Symposium at Lincoln Park Zoo

Scientists, researchers and monitors will present their fieldwork on Forest Preserve District lands at the first-ever Forest Preserve Symposium to Highlight Science and Research in Cook County, April 19, at the Lincoln Park Zoo. This event is open to the community.

The free daylong symposium will highlight diverse projects, encourage further study and discuss opportunities for collaboration. Participants will employ a unique “speed presenting” format, aimed at examining the important research taking place throughout Cook County, from mammals and birds to aquatics and habitat restoration.

Unlike traditional research conferences that separate attendees into narrow tracks, the Forest Preserve District hopes to encourage participants to learn from others outside their area of expertise and promote networking across traditional disciplines.

Cost: Admission, including access to the Symposium, a box lunch and an afternoon reception, is free with advance registration (required). Location: Café Brauer, Lincoln Park Zoo, 2012 North Stockton Dr., Chicago. For more information, visit fpdcc.com/symposium.
