Registration Open for Women’s Sailing Conference

The second annual 2012 Midwest Women’s Sailing Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., May 19, at The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center, sponsored by the Milwaukee Bay Women’s Sailing Organization. A full day of workshops and speakers will cover topics of seamanship, with special emphasis on women’s interest and participation in the sport of sailing.

This concentrated event will give women an efficient and effective way to get started or to improve their sailing skills at any level. Even experienced skippers will find many workshops to sharpen knowledge and learn new skills.

Following a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., the group will receive the keynote address from Nancy Erley, a sailor who twice circumnavigated the globe with female crews (TethyOffshore.com). Erley will also present two workshops, modeled after Gail Hines’ Southern California Yachting Association’s Women’s Sailing Convention.

Cost: $125, including classes, meals and reception. Attendance limited to 100. Location: 1450 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr., Milwaukee, WI. For more information, call 414-530-6528, email [email protected] visit WomensSailing.org.
