Going Green Matters in Wilmette

The eighth annual community environmental fair, Going Green Matters, will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., March 9, at the Woman’s Club of Wilmette. Attendees will enjoy interactive nature exhibits for children and adults, relax in the Go Green Café, see the latest in eco cars, bikes and home energy efficiencies and try their luck at a raffle. They can also get advice about composting, gardening, light bulbs, setting up rain barrels and landscaping for water conservation.

This year’s theme is Water Matters, so bring ideas and questions about water quality, storm water, conservation and recreation to the Talk It Up room. Find out about the hidden role that water plays in all aspects of our daily activities and discover simple ways to easily conserve water.

Electronics, Styrofoam, shoes, textiles and bicycles will be accepted for recycling from noon to 4 p.m. Nearby street parking will be available.

Admission is free. Location: 930 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette. For more information, visit GoingGreenMatters.org.
