County Green Conference for a Sustainable Lake County

County Green 2012 is the third annual county-wide sustainability conference that brings local business owners, educators, nonprofits, residents and municipal and county leaders together at the College of Lake County, in Grayslake. This year’s conference will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 17, promoting a sustainable future in Lake County.

County Green will focus on the environmental, social and economic impact of water and food on our region. Through speakers and workshops, County Green will connect the dots between the water and food supply, increasing demands and what needs to be done to ensure a sustainable future.

Keynote speaker Peter Annin, author of Great Lakes Water Wars, will shine a spotlight on the importance of water, as will presentations by organizations involved in protecting water and growing local food in Lake County. The conference includes a vendor fair and film presentations.
