Have a Ball at Evanston Green Fundraiser

The fifth annual Evanston Green Ball, co-presented by the Evanston Environmental Association (EEA) and city of Evanston, and sponsored in part by Natural Awakenings magazine, will take place from 7 to 10:30 p.m., May 13, at the Levy Center, in Evanston. All proceeds support a great cause—the educational programs and operations at the Evanston Ecology Center. This fun event features live music and the Taste of Evanston; free food and drink from the best local restaurants, caterers and breweries. The band Ear Candy will perform upbeat pop/rock dance tune-age music.

“The Green Ball is the best party in town,” says EEA President Dick Peach. “It’s the most fun you’ll ever have supporting programs that keep Evanston green and educate people on why it’s important to protect the planet.” The Eco Center Sitters service offers children a fun-filled Friday night at the Levy Center during the ball, with a snack, games, animal encounters, nature walk and more.

Early bird and regular tickets are $65 and $75, respectively, with a $5 EEA member discount on both. Friend of the Ecology Center tickets are $100, with a discount for groups of five or more. Location: 300 Dodge Ave. To purchase tickets, visit EvanstonEnvironment.org/greenball. Child-sitting is $20 per child for Evanston residents; $25 for non-residents. To register for the sitter service (required), call 847-448-8256 or visit CityOfEvanston.org/register
