Ronora Lodge Provides an Idyllic Getaway

Deej Leggitt, co-owner of the Ronora Lodge and Retreat Center, two miles north of Watervliet, Michigan, says, “People say they feel The Mother here.” They host conferences and retreats for religious families and congregations, wiccans, shamans, reiki and yoga practitioners, university teachers, Montessori elementary classes, Lycee Francais de Chicago, LGBTQ+, recovery groups and family reunions; and even provide a creative, reflective space for writers, artists, weddings and romantic couples.

Up to 100 people can sleep in the cottages and lodges, and all cabins have furnished kitchens. Trilogy House, a massive wooden structure brought piece-by-piece from Chicago in 1936, features a great room with a stone fireplace and semiprofessional kitchen. At Ronora Lodge and Retreat Center, there are no phones or TV. Guests can rent 400 acres and sleep 100 for an exclusive-use weekend.
