Green Living Expo at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake

McHenry County College (MCC), in Crystal Lake, will host its ninth annual Green Living Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., November 5, in the gym/multipurpose room, featuring local businesses and organizations that offer green products and services. Nearby collegiate solar and super mileage team race cars and team members will be on hand.

      Highlights include touring a fully decorated tiny house recently featured on the FYI Network TV show Tiny House Nation; test driving a 2016 Nissan Leaf electric vehicle with a chance to win an extended test drive for an entire weekend; and recycling electronics, batteries and more with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County during their monthly recycling drive in the MCC parking lot from 9 a.m. to noon.

      Kimberly Hankins, director of sustainability at MCC, says, “Last year’s event attracted close to 900 guests, and we are hoping to top that this year.”
