The Organic Roots Eco Salon, in Skokie, is introducing Organic Manicures using JoShik (which means satisfaction with ease and happiness) Polish, a Chicago-based brand that gives a thumbs down to toxins. It was created by a wife, mother and health enthusiast with the goal of bringing high-quality, affordable, luxurious, vegan nail polish to young girls and discerning, modern women. In addition to USA-made Karma Polish Remover and organic coconut oil, Organic Roots also uses all-organic color and hair care products from Organic Way.

      Owner and stylist Lori Goldstein says, “Everything we do is geared toward health and wellness. In fact, our motto is, ‘Health & Beauty–You no longer have to sacrifice one for the other.’ We always have healthy snacks available. Years ago, you could expect to find cookies and coffee cakes in the salon. Instead, we now offer gluten-free granola bars, raisins and other items. Even our cleaning products and laundry detergents are natural and safe and fragrance-free. We try not to overbook, so we can focus our attention on one client at a time.”
