Hyperbaric Centers of Chicago is the only hyperbaric center in the area, with two state-of-the-art chambers available, including a multiplace device that allows a caregiver to be in the chamber to attend to the patient.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a simple, non-invasive and painless treatment modality that facilitates the body’s natural healing process by providing inhalation of 100 percent oxygen instead of the 20 percent concentration in the air around us. In a hyperbaric chamber, the atmospheric pressure can be increased by a factor of one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half, and ensure that the extra oxygen reaches damaged tissue anywhere to support the body’s own healing process.
HBOT is used in a variety of conditions, including wound healing, concussion, neuropathic pain, chronic stroke, toxicity, neuropsychiatric disorders, tick-borne illnesses, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, consequences of cancer or stroke, sports injury, and more.
