Fall Festival for Friends of the Forest Preserves

The Friends of the Forest Preserves are planning a nighttime fall festival, Ignite the Night, with fun for all ages, to be held from 5 to 10 p.m., September 29, at the Spring Creek Forest Preserve.

Guests will enjoy a cookout dinner from 5 to 8 p.m., with beer and wine, a huge bonfire, narrated horse-drawn wagon rides, native wildlife, stargazing, an amazing raffle with more than 25 items, flashlight tours for the kids, live music and dancing.

Sponsors include Barrington Countryside Park District, the Riding Club of Barrington Hills and the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. All proceeds will be used to support Friends of the Forest Preserves conservation work.


Location: 361 Bateman Rd., in Barrington Hills. Tickets are $45 with advance purchase by September 21 or $60 at the door, $25 for ages 13-20 and $5 for children under 12. Purchase event and raffle tickets online at fotfp.org or call 312-356-9990.
