The Theosophical Society in America will host the 17th annual TheosoFest Mind, Body and Spirit Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., September 8, at its national headquarters in Wheaton. This family-friendly event celebrates the wisdom of the ages, the unity of all life and spiritual transformation.

       Attracting more than 3,000 people annually, the festival takes place on the Society’s 40 acres of landscaped grounds, featuring a world-class library, the Quest Book Shop, an outdoor labyrinth and the Buddha Meditation Garden. Visitors can learn about meditative practices from many traditions and experts, stroll through the labyrinth, try qigong, yoga and tai ji, participate in a drum circle or visit the Kids’ Korner. Vendors will be offering demonstrations and tasty vegetarian fare.

       The festival opens with prayers from world traditions, followed by presentations throughout the day. Topics include mastering your energy, kundalini and the chakras, the Buddhist way to joy, centering prayer, Lakota spiritual traditions, astrology, shamanism and more.
