Great Haircuts Adapted to Individual Head Shape

Organic Roots Eco Salon, in Skokie, now offers Head Shape Matters (HSM) haircuts, the only patented hair-cutting system. Jackie Zaigirdar, a stylist at Organic Roots, is a certified HSM stylist.

A customized haircut, HSM uses a person’s head shape to determine the cutting angles needed to create the desired shape and effect. “This tailored haircut uses geometry to achieve a flattering look that works with your hair density, leaving everything balanced and blended. I love how easily I can achieve a beautiful spread of blended layers using HSM,” says Zaigirdar. “HSM has taken the guesswork out of cutting and made me feel like an expert. I will never go back to the traditional way of cutting.”

Organic Roots also offers the world’s first professional organic hair color, with biodynamic, fair trade ingredients and pure essential oils for all hair types. Customers may choose from 95 permanent, ammonia-free shades. Magic Sleek and Cezanne treatments are formaldehyde-free and non-toxic, with no down time. Clients can tie up and shampoo the same day.

They use sustainable practices, such as repurposing the salon’s hair clippings into mats that help clean oil spills as well as using LED lighting and composting bags that disintegrate, rather than filling landfills.

Location: 3417 Dempster St., Skokie. For more information or to make appointments, call 847-423-2653 or visit OrganicRootsEcoSalon.com.
