The Morton Arboretum, in Lisle, will launch the 14th season of its Illumination holiday lights exhibition on November 14, featuring four new light installations and a reimagined visitor experience. The nationally acclaimed event will run through January 2, 2027.
Among the new attractions is a colorful canopy inspired by the aurora borealis stretching more than 400 feet overhead—the exhibition’s most ambitious installation and a feature available only during this season. Visitors also can explore a glowing landscape of firefly-like orbs and illuminated mushrooms, along with a new model train attraction winding through an indoor fantasy woodland.
“You won’t want to miss this year’s Illumination,” says Amy Scott, the arboretum’s head of exhibitions. “From a model train fantasyland and breathtaking new large-scale installations inspired by natural phenomena to enhanced returning favorites guests have loved for years, this season’s exhibition invites visitors to slow down, explore and experience the wonder of trees and nature in an exciting new way.”
