Today, more than ever, people are concerned about what chemicals they are putting on their hair. The chemical compound p-Phenylenediamine (PPD) is a suspected allergen and possible carcinogen, but is found in many hair care products.
B.G. Organic Hair Salon, in Chicago, now offers a new type of organic hair color that is PPD-free, ammonia-free, certified vegan and cruelty-free and provides supreme gray coverage. It is also rich with nutrients, antioxidants, amino acids and botanical oils derived from rain forests.
A new concept for a certified green hair salon, B.G. offers botanical perms and uses only the best organic products on the market, says owner Bonnie Grcic, who adds that all hair product bottles are made with 100 percent recycled materials. B.G. donates 10 percent of net income to replant rain forests and toward cancer research. Hair clippings are sent to be recycled into mats used to soak up oil spills around the world.
