Two Things to Do Right When Eating

Reneé Barasch, owner of Nutritional Health Solutions, recommends we make two important changes when eating to improve overall digestion:

Avoid drinking water with meals. “Water dilutes your digestive juices, which you need to break down your food,” she says. “If you must drink when eating, you probably have an enzyme deficiency.”

Chew food thoroughly. “Chewing food until it’s a paste helps you absorb more nutrients,” notes Barasch. “It also makes digestion easier and reduces excess bacteria in your intestines that lead to gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation and yeast issues.”
