There is a Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre?

Sep 16, 2014 ● By Megy Karydes

What do Charlie Bucket and the Gremlins have in common? Both are characters created by Roald Dahl.

The 50th anniversary of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory took place earlier this year and thousands of people around the world celebrated yesterday during Roald Dahl Day. For many, Dahl’s book was not only the window into imaginative characters and scenes, but his books including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and James and the Giant Peach were the first chapter books we read as children. A testament to their universal appeal, they’re still read today by thousands of children around the world.

While his books are well-known, did you know that an interactive and wonderful tiny museum sits in the village where Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years and celebrates his work?

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is aimed at 6-12 year olds but the Story Centre allows children young and old to put your imagination to work with activities meant to inspire the writer in all of us.

Do you have a favorite Dahl book?
