Leak-Free Laughter and Better Sex with FemiLift

Women suffering from bladder leakage or wish they had a healthier, more fulfilling sex life may want to learn more about FemiLift, a pain-free, surgery-free laser treatment that requires no downtime and is typically performed within 10 minutes. For many women experiencing stress urinary incontinence, vaginal looseness or vaginal dryness, the results with FemiLift are immediate.

Board-Certified OB/GYN Joyce Chams, M.D., is part of the VFemina team, the only group of board-certified obstetrician/gynecologists in Illinois to offer FemiLift, the latest laser technology for vaginal rejuvenation, tightening and lubrication.

Chams graduated from the Chicago Medical School and completed her residency at Rush University Medical Center. She has been in private practice for more than 22 years and is currently on staff at North Shore University Health Systems and at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Her focus is on female gynecological health issues that include surgical and non-surgical treatments of pre- and post-menopausal conditions. Here, she answers some of the most frequently asked questions regarding FemiLift.

What is FemiLift?

FemiLift is a non-invasive CO2 laser that promotes the genesis of new collagen, which remodels the vaginal wall tissue and strengthens support to the bladder and urethra. It also tightens the vagina and increases lubrication. It’s the same kind of laser used for many years on the face for facial rejuvenation and the smoothing of wrinkles.

How does it work?

FemiLift utilizes a controlled laser beam to apply concentrated thermal heating to the inner layers of the vaginal tissue. The heat induces collagen production, resulting in tightening. Not only does FemiLift stop bladder leakage with no anesthesia and no downtime, but it also increases lubrication, heightening sexual pleasure for both partners.

Is it safe?

Yes. FemiLift is a breakthrough procedure that helps restore a youthful vagina and improve urinary stress incontinence. Using a unique vaginal probe, laser energy is delivered safely to the full circumference of the vagina to promote collagen production and remodeling.

Does it hurt?

FemiLift is pain-free. Most patients report that it is more comfortable than having a pap smear.

How many treatments are needed?

For maximum results, three treatments are suggested, one month apart. While most women notice improvement after the first treatment, three are recommended.

Who can benefit?

FemiLift is ideal for women between the ages of 30 and 65 who either suffer from urinary stress incontinence (the involuntary leaking of urine while exercising, laughing, coughing or sneezing), are in need of more vaginal lubrication due to medications or menopausal factors, or whom desire tightening of the vagina after childbirth.

What do patients say?

My patients have been very happy with their outcomes. I have several patients who are now able to exercise with no incontinence whatsoever. Several patients have said that sexual satisfaction for them and their partners has skyrocketed. There’s no doubt that FemiLift is changing their lives.
