Kudos

After years of organizing and spreading the word, Chicago Market is coming to the Wilson CTA Stop in Uptown. The lease is signed on the 13,000-square-foot, immaculately restored historic Gerber Building, which will become the home of Chicago’s newest local, sustainable grocery store, and one of the nation’s largest startup food co-ops.

From the enthusiastic folks that attended community meetings organized by founder Greg Berlowitz to a dedicated steering committee and an elected board of directors, Chicago Market has grown to a community of more than 1,000 Owners dedicated to the idea that grocery shopping can be awesome, delicious and fun. Much work still needs to be done, including expanding the Chicago Market community to 2,000 Owners by the end of the year, so help spread the word.
