Buckthorn-Free Garden Flags Are Available to Lake County Residents

Since last September, Lake County Forest Preserves has approved 27 “buckthorn-free” garden flag applications from county residents. Flags are available free of charge to Lake County residents that do not have European buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) on their property. One recipient, Bob Lee, who also volunteers for the Forest Preserves, shared a photo of himself with the flag installed in his yard.
