The third annual Solstice Century Bike Ride and Fundraiser, organized by Zac Larson, will take place June 19 at Whalon Lake Forest Preserve, where up to 100 riders will cycle 100 miles to raise funds for nonprofits that provide mental health, youth and family services, and food and shelter programs. The all-day event begins at 6 a.m., with the ride starting at 6:30 a.m. Organizers aim to raise $100,000 for local charitable organizations.

Riders will complete 10 scenic, 10-mile loops through the forest preserve near the summer solstice. Participation is free, but each cyclist is encouraged to raise at least $1,000 in charitable donations.  Participants don’t need to be experienced cyclists—only being willing to train for the challenge while supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the community. Last year’s event raised more than $105,000.

Lunch will be provided for riders, participants, donors and volunteers. They are also invited to attend the Solstice Century Celebration featuring dinner, music and beverages. Sponsorship opportunities are available, with IntentGen Financial Partners serving as presenting sponsor.

Location: Whalon Lake Shelter, 1496 Royce Rd., Bolingbrook. For more information or to register, visit SolsticeCentury.com.
