Prairie Food Co-op (PFC), in Lombard, will host a one-year anniversary celebration from noon to 4 p.m. on July 11, featuring a family-friendly afternoon of activities, local vendors and community events.

The event will include a local makers market, kids’ activities, owner appreciation perks, raffle giveaways and vendor sampling from local businesses including Koval Distillery, Two Brothers Coffee, Sol Food Natural Soap, Central Illinois Bakehouse, Jenny’s Tofu and Stewart’s Cheesecake.

As DuPage County’s first community-owned grocery store, PFC opened its doors one year ago with a mission to strengthen the local economy and build a more resilient food system by prioritizing local organic food and the people behind its production.

Neighbors and friends are invited to stop by and take part in the festivities marking the milestone anniversary.

Location: 837 S. Westmore-Meyers Rd., Lombard (located next to the DMV). For more information, call Cece Stronach at 630-339-2818, email [email protected] or visit
