Chicago Wilderness Congress Celebrates 20 Years of Progress

The Chicago Wilderness Congress will meet from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., November 2, at the University of Illinois Chicago UIC Forum. This event is open to the public and provides a great way to connect with more than 700 top conservationists and community partners representing more than 200 organizations. Chicago Wilderness is a regional alliance working in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan to preserve, improve and expand nature and the quality of life.

Attendees will participate in breakout sessions organized in three tracks: Epic Fails, Step Out of Your Silo and Show Me the Money. There will be speakers, speed mentoring and an afternoon film festival.

In an age of dwindling resources, collaboration helps organizations achieve their goals with limited budgets. Many organizations in the Chicago Wilderness Region are impacted by declining state and federal budgets and seek innovative funding strategies. Presentations at the conference will demonstrate multi-organization solutions for these issues, in addition to oak ecosystems, priority plant and animal species and water resource management.

Natural Awakenings Chicago and The Mike Nowak Show are media sponsors. Location: 725 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago. For tickets and a complete agenda, visit ChicagoWilderness.org/page/congress.
