Healing After Loss Workshop with David Kessler

David Kessler

David Kessler, one of the most well-known experts and lecturers on grief and loss, will present a daylong Infinity Foundation workshop from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., November 4. He will lead participants through a contemporary method of dealing with hopelessness, anger, uncertainty and the remorse of loss.

Currently, many of us are dealing with what can be called empathic loss from the devastating hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, mass shootings and other national and world events. We may want to show support as we feel the enormity of the victims’ loss of life, livelihood and property. Yet we may feel hopeless to directly help as much as we’d like to, and experience a lingering unresolved feeling of loss for the suffering others are going through. This affects us similarly as the loss of a loved one does.

“There is a new kind of unexpected mourning many people are trying to cope with that traditionally was a result of a death of a loved one,” says Kessler. “Loss is a result of a variety of life events.”

Kessler wrote The Needs of the Dying and is the author of five bestselling titles, including You Can Heal Your Heart: Finding Peace After a Breakup and Divorce or Death, with Louise Hay.

Cost is $110. Location; 1280 Old Skokie Rd., Highland Park. For more information and registration, visit InfinityFoundation.org.
