The Link Between Bacteria and Heart Disease
Years ago, we thought that ulcer disease was caused by spicy food. Then we discovered that stomach ulcers were actually caused by bacteria. The treatment of ulcer disease went from surgery to antibiotics and a better quality of health.
In the same way, some researchers now believe that the development of plaque in our arteries is caused by tiny nanobacteria that utilize cholesterol and calcium as building blocks to form plaque, much like a coral reef. In response to this new model, researchers have developed alternative products that are capable of interfering with these nanobacteria.
One product containing a proprietary blend of ingredients, including vitamin C, vitamin B3 (niacin), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), folate, selenium, papain, grape seed extract, CoQ10 and many others, was given to individuals with positive coronary artery calcium scores. The study candidates were found to have a 58 percent reduction in coronary artery calcium scores. These findings were presented at the Tampiere Medical Symposium, in Norway, and are considered significant because this reduction was both large and took place prior to the occurrence of a medical event. Traditional statin therapy has been shown to reverse plaque only after the first heart attack.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the U.S. for both men and women, and more than 50 percent of all heart attack and stroke victims have normal cholesterol levels. Fifty percent of men and 64 percent of women that die suddenly of coronary heart disease had no previous symptoms of it. Many people may have cardiovascular disease and not know it.
