Healthy Whipped (Coconut) Cream

Winter without whipped topping is one that we don’t want to imagine. If your taste buds love it, but your body disagrees, functional medicine physician Barbie Allegretti, DC, has a dairy-free alternative that is easy to whip up and adds a great touch to any wintertime treat.

Homemade Whipped Coconut Cream
1 can full-fat coconut milk
1 Tbsp maple syrup
½ tsp vanilla extract
Take the cream from a can of full-fat coconut milk chilled in fridge six hours.
Add maple syrup.
Add vanilla extract.
Combine in mason jar with lid and shake.
Enjoy on top of a favorite holiday treat.
