Author Sara Avant will talk about her new book, The Way of the Happy Woman: Living the Best Year of Your Life, and sign copies from 7 to 9 p.m., November 4, at Heaven Meets Earth Yoga, in Evanston. In preparation for winter and the holiday season, she will lead a powerful Yoga Woman Retreat from 2-5 p.m., November 5 and participants will receive a copy of the book.
Avant is a motivational speaker, teacher, mentor and author. After a cancer scare in her early 20s, she moved to Thailand, where she embarked on an extensive healing and spiritual odyssey throughout Asia, and served as one of the pioneer Western yoga teachers in that part of the world. She now lives in Boulder, Colorado, and continues to teach women about wellness, spirituality and lifestyle around the world.
The workshop will show how to step into the silent magic that winter’s medicine promises and become more connected with self. Practice seasonal women’s yin and vinyasa yoga, insight meditation, journaling, group practices and lifestyle secrets to help you reclaim the ease, empowerment, and wise-woman knowing that longs to be expressed through you.
Attendees receive down-to-earth practices for staying rested, healthy and centered; warm-hearted connection with themselves and other women; clear goals for what unexpressed dreams they want to incubate for the next three months; a deepened trust of intuition and feminine power; more vitality and greater ease of body and mind; and more love, more energy, and more presence to give loved ones and self. Individuals should bring your journal and a clear intention for what they would like to receive.
