Holiday Angel Lecture and Forgiveness Workshop

Sophy Burnham

Sophy Burnham, author of A Book of Angels, Angel Letters and The Ecstatic Journey, will give a lecture, Angels Among Us, from 6 to 8 p.m., November 30, and a forgiveness workshop from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., December 1, at the Swedenborg Library, in Chicago, as an antidote to holiday encounters with toxic relationships.

Burnham says, “I didn’t grow up believing in angels, but when I was 28, an angel miraculously saved my life.” She will discuss the many powerful and inexplicable forces and coincidences that affect our lives, and the profound ways in which, visibly and invisibly, angels touch us.

If obligatory holiday gatherings with family result more in frustration than joy, some lessons in forgiveness may be the perfect holiday gift. “All religions tell you to forgive, but no one tells you how to do it,” says Burnham. In the workshop, she will share tools for forgiving others and ourselves.

Cost is $10 for the lecture (donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository) and $30 for the workshop (includes lunch). Location: 77 W. Washington St. For tickets, call 312-346-7003 or visit SwedenborgLib.org.
