Pick a Local Beach and Help Clean it Up

Alliance for the Great Lakes volunteers of all ages will roll up their sleeves to make a favorite Illinois beach or shoreline even better by participating in its 25th annual Adopt-a-Beach event on September 17. Thousands more in six other Great Lakes states will also join in on the Alliance event as part of the International Coastal Cleanup.

Adopt-a-Beach volunteers keep trash off Great Lakes beaches and out of our water. Each year, nearly 15,000 clean up thousands of pounds of litter, leaving beaches cleaner and healthier. Everyone is welcome to join in, including individuals, families and groups.

To find a nearby clean-up, visit GreatLakesAdopt.org. See ad on page 39.
