“Driven by our own selfish desire, we think nothing of destroying others' peace of mind and causing them distress or harm. We see this played out every day in the news, but this is not a new story. Nor does it need to be the narrative of our life, our neighborhoods or our nation,” says Gen Kelsang Zamling, an ordained Buddhist monk and principal meditation teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago, based in Oak Park.
