Faith in Place to Host Virtual Green Team Summit

A Just Recovery, the fifth annual Green Team Summit, will connect the dots between faith, climate change, COVID-19 and racial justice. This virtual event is free and open to all online from September 13 through 17. Summit attendees will explore ways to face the challenges of the aforementioned topics along with environmental and systemic racism.

Expert speakers and diverse workshops will facilitate discussions with attendees. The summit will also celebrate the exemplary environmental justice work of Faith in Place Green Teams (environmental groups from faith communities across Illinois) and bestow awards for their accomplishments. Faith in Place anticipates more than 1,000 people of faith to participate.

Nonprofit Faith in Place empowers Illinois people of all faiths to be leaders in caring for the Earth, and providing resources to educate, connect and advocate for healthier communities.
